Maggie Hernández is an abstract artist with a passion for strong color and movement. She is an intuitive painter whose images are
highly influenced by her immediate surroundings. The intention in her work is to visually capture a moment in time. These moments
often reflect the power of untamed emotion and color; a break from socially imposed neutrality. “My paintings offer an opportunity to
connect with the part of us that wants to exclaim, rejoice, celebrate, and fight with reckless abandon and in a manner that may be
received without judgment. It is about the importance of honest, human communication; a place for us to learn to receive without
attachment, and to relate without fear of defensive reactions.” Ms. Hernández is currently working on a series
of paintings that explore the changing mood of a single, repetitive motif, the crosshatch.
